Presentation at the Berkman Klein's Center forInternet & Society

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Abstract: While visual content plays a key role in the representation and the dissemination of “the sum of all knowledge”, many Wikimedia projects are still missing images. Vision-specific AI technologies can help fill this gap, but how can we design computer vision solutions in harmony with Wikimedia’s democratic processes as well as the fundamental principle of knowledge equity? In this presentation, we will see examples of challenges and solutions when it comes to deploying responsible, unbiased, representative, and empowering machine vision technologies for visual knowledge enrichment.
