You can also use things like social media if you have your own great if not, you can use your competitor’s platforms to develop a deeper understanding, what are their likes and dislikes? What issues are your products solving in their lives? The more in-depth your profile, the better you will be able to connect with your customer, as your engagement will come from a place of knowing and understanding rather than pure guesswork.

Create a Great Brand

A great brand is far more than a logo, a company name, and a trade. It is a far more loaded concept than that. It is about creating a philosophy and culture that your customers and staff can identify with and feel a connection to. Consider your key customer and the issues that concern them, try and make some of the key concerns part of your core values. Ensure that you have a website that clearly articulates your brand and your ethical reason for being in business. Get that right, and you will develop brand loyalty and possibly even brand ambassadors.

Treat Customers as Individuals

Everyone likes to be seen as an individual in their own right, and every customer needs to be spoken to in a manner that suits them. It may be an idea to have a great customer service training program and allow your staff the flexibility to talk to your customers in a manner that they see fit. Avoid scripts, for example. It may even be prudent to employ a  business translations service so that your foreign customers can be spoken to in a language they understand. Ensure you always respond to their concerns, take all complaints seriously, and follow up on everything. You can always use great customer service to turn someone into a brand ambassador.

Use Social Media

Social media is a fantastic tool to connect with your customers online. You can use it to post images and videos, giving customs a glimpse inside your company and a deeper insight into your company culture. If anyone posts a comment, always reply quickly and use this chance to further your brand identity in some subtle way.
