--Dereckson (talk) 23:06, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi HaguardDuNord, please pardon me for addressing you in English. (Please feel free to respond in French, I can read French but unfortunately I can no longer write in French.) Unfortunately, this photograph has no description and does not tell which artist created this stained glass window (vitrail). As this looks like a 20th-century work and as there is no freedom of panorama in France, this is a crucial piece of information as this photograph is a derived from this artwork. Last year, I visited in Cherbourg as well and took some photographs of this basilique including some of the stained glass windows. And I wonder now if I can upload them. Hence it would be very helpful if this could be researched. Unfortunately, the article about the Basilique at fr-wp does not tell anything about the stained glass windows. Thanks for your help and kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 20:11, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bonjour. Cordialement. HaguardDuNord (talk) 09:26, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi HaguardDuNord, thank you for your response and your offer to check this out. At the BNF catalogue I've found an entry for a 20-pages booklet which could be perhaps helpful in researching this: Jean Hervé-Commereuc: Basilique Sainte-Trinité, Cherbourg, Lyon, 1985. It is most likely hard to get in Germany but perhaps you've more luck at your local libraries. Kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 09:42, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes, the library of Cherbourg has this book [1] and an article by René Levavasseur [2]. I will be in Cherbourg next week. HaguardDuNord (talk) 11:11, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So... I don't read this two books, but in Églises et Chapelles de Cherbourg-Octeville (2004), Nicolas Lecervoisier talks about fr:Jean Gaudin in 1950's for stained glass window la Visitation, la Nativité, la Présentation, la Crucifixion, Assomption, and 'l'Annonciation. So it's a derivative works :(. HaguardDuNord (talk) 16:24, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you, HaguardDuNord, for researching this. It is a pity but I've speedily deleted it now. BTW, I will be in Cherbourg on August 29 and 30. Any time for a meeting or a joined photo tour through Cherbourg or the surrounding area? Or a suggestion what could be worth visiting? Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 16:41, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't know if I'll be in Cherbourg, but it's a good idea. I'll tell you that. In Cherbourg, there is la Cité de la Mer and this summer, an exhibition about Jean-François Millet. In the surrounding area, Valognes and his houses of the 18th century, the Hague peninsula (Vauville, Jobourg, Goury, Gréville...) and the Val de Saire, with Barfleur, Tatihou, Gatteville... Everything must be seen in Cotentin ! :o) . HaguardDuNord (talk) 17:47, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bonjour,

--Karldupart (talk) 16:10, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File:Cinematheque-Langlois.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Thanks for uploading File:Gatteville - Eglise.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Category discussion warning

Category:Cap_Manuel,_Dakar has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution.
