Why I opposed your image[edit]
Hi Nikopol, I am not sure,if you saw the another nomination from 2 days ago of a hate propaganda cartoon (do not want to link to it in purpose). One person called it "propaganda", and other (Commons administrator) disagreed. After that I understood that many people have not enough knowledge and/or education to see the hate and propaganda behind some images. One more thing, if we are to feature propaganda images against West, it will be only fair to do the same with anti-terrorism propaganda, yet I am very sure it is never going to happen. That's why I believe FP will be better off to stay out that slippery slope. I hope you understand, in any case it has nothing to do with the image, or with you personally. Once again thank you for the comment you made on the nomination page--Mbz1 (talk) 21:24, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- Ah well, I knew beforehand that probably the topic would be too sensitive, regardless of the image´s qualities. I´ll get over it ;) Nikopol (talk) 21:53, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Request for a photo[edit]
Hello, My name is Kasia, I'm from Poland. I am writing to you to ask for permission to use one of your photos - this one: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bordeaux_place_de_la_bourse_sunset_and_fog_with_girls.jpg
I study Architecture and Urban Design in Cracow. For one of my projects I've designed a waterfront in Stuttgart. I have there a public space, something like Miroir d'Eau in Bordeaux. And I would like to show this specific photo to show how it looks like in Bordeaux. Unfortunately, I have never been there and I don't have my own. So your photo would be used for educational purposes, I would write your name near the photo and a link to wikimedia commons in a summary of the project. The problem is that I don't want to public my project under CC license and that's why I am asking you for permission to use your photo without this CC license. Do you agree? I would be very grateful!
I am looking forward to your response. Yours sincerely, Kasia Gutowska

Permission to use your image in a documentary film[edit]
Dear Mister Maiwald,
I am working for a production company in Paris, Les Films d'Ici.
We are producing a film upon a new building of Franck Ghery, directed by Richard Copans.
We have found a photo you should have made, upon Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. I would like to know if we could use it in this 26minutes length documentary film? Could you also send it to us in High Definition?
I thank you in advance for your answer.
All the very best,
Aurélie Bardet

Reusing the photography of Place de la Bourse, Bordeaux by night with tram[edit]
Hello,
I'm working for a Château in France and I'd like to reuse Phillip Maiwald's photography of Place de la Bourse de Bordeaux. I'm working on flyer and I want to present red wine with this picture. My lay out needs to cut a part of this photography, can I ? And, last request, can I write on it in white the author or it's absolutely necessary to write on the side ? I hope my english is okay to understand my request...
You can contact me on this mail : cyndie.bouffard@gmail.com
Thank you for your answer.
Cyndie Bouffard
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you from the French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Madrid. The Chambre "La Chambre Franco-Espagnole de Commerce et d'Industrie" is celebrating its 120th Anniversary in Spain and to commemorate it we are working on a Publication that describes and tells our history. Since we have an Office in Bilbao, we would like to use one of your photos of the Guggenheim. This Book will not be sold, we will distribute it among our members (over 500 companies) as well as the French Embassy, the Spanish and French Intuitions...
We will of course add of the credits and copy rights.
We thank you in advance for the use of your pictures.
Yours sincerely

Using your image of the Isafan Mosque dome in an art museum audio guide?[edit]
Dear Phillip Maiwald ,
I work at Mona, the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania, where we are preparing an exhibition looking at the evolutionary origins of human art making. We have four scientist guest curators for this show, one of whom, Professor Brian Boyd of Auckland University, has asked if we can include your wonderful photo of the Isafan Mosque dome interior in the electronic guide that we use in the museum instead of wall labels. It would be in the context of his discussion about the human impulse to play with and control pattern.
We would of course fully acknowledge your photograph. I have drafted the following caption, and would be very grateful for your approval or any changes:-
Interior of the dome, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan, Iran, built 1603–19 Photograph courtesy of Phillip Maiwald (Nikopol) © Phillip Maiwald
I can certainly send you more information about Mona, if you are interested. We're a private but totally no profit museum, opened in 2011.
With very best wishes
Jane Clark
Senior Research Curator, Mona (The Museum of Old and New Art) Hobart, Tasmania, Australia email: jane@mona.net.au phone: +61 (0)408 891 394
Dear Jane,
you can use the image with proper attribution, the way you are planning it is fine for me.
I wish you the best for your exhibition!
