While chatting with a colleague yesterday, I asked him how he was.
“Not good”, he said.
When I asked him about it, he explained that one of his employees had been set to retire last Friday, but sadly, he had suffered a heart attack on Thursday and passed away the day before.
As I heard this I too was deeply saddened.
I couldn’t imagine what it must be like for his family.
One day before retirement he died. Imagine all the plans that he must have had for his retirement, all of the things that he had put off, knowing that in a few months he would have all the time in the world to do them.
It was a great reminder that we only get one life, we never know how long it will last, and that maybe we shouldn’t put things off until we retire, because that day might not come.
Live life now!
